In 1945, 18 year old James Boxley lived in Halifax, Virginia where he received word that a brick manufacturing plant in Coeymans, New York was looking for workers. James wasted no time and moved to New York with hopes of working to help support his family back home.
After Boxley was hired, he was living on the job site in less-than-tidy quarters. In his off-time, Boxley was compelled to improve the standard of living for he and his coworkers. After a long day of hard labor, he punched out and began detailing the cars of his coworkers. His efforts were greatly appreciated and James was well respected by the other men.
News spread of this hard working young man and the fine job he was doing. By 1961, James was offered a job by Richard Marshall at his family owned dealership to provide added value for the customers of Marshall’s Transportation Center. Over 50 years later that attention to detail and hard work lives on at Boxley’s Polishing Services, as we continue James Boxley’s tradition of quality and attention to detail.
